July 2011~20 months old!

Keyan's vocabulary has really just taken off... he says whatever is on his mind and frequently repeats everything we say....which in turn makes us think before we speak!:)
He is quite the little swimmer now too as we go swimming at the pool 3-4 times a week... he wears this floatie device that goes around his stomach and arms and he jumps in and splashes around with no hesitation! I think the swimming lessons we took in the spring have really helped with his no fear of the water... he is so great to spit the water out if he happens to get his face in the water! He loves to play at the park... the one in our neighborhood and the discovery park in pleasant grove...we have to get out at least two times a day! He continues to love story time on mondays at the library where he participates in story telling, parades and crafts! He has really done so well at toddler tumbling at a local gymnastics place where he is now swinging on the rings, doing summersalts and hanging from uneven bars and pulling himself up almost to a pull up!! Wow.... he really does love the trampoline the most where he can now jump up sit on his bottom and come up again on his feet! He has now been going for two months and really is loving all the jumping, running and hanging and even tries it at home!!:)
This month was packed with family visits, trips and events! We started out the first of the month with tylers brother and family visiting from virginia... we were able to attend stadium of fire and see brad paisley, david archuleta and other local talent.... wow this year was so amazing and fireworks were truly the best we have seen! Keyan loved the music and was dancing and singing along.... of course had to have kettle corn (his favorite) from BYU stands to make his fourth complete. We were able to host his cousin ezra's first birthday party at our clubhouse for traditional korean food and ceremony. My aunt and uncle, marty and dave came up from AZ and and were able to stay with us and meet keyan.... how fun to see them... just loved having them! My cousin had her baby blessed on that sunday as well where we got to see many of our relatives from texas as well!
The second week of july brought my brother and his kids visiting from oregon for the first time.... keyan was just so excited to have his cousins here and was pretty sad to see everyone leave. We were excited to go to seven peaks for the first time since moving to utah... I havent been there since I was a teen coming to youth conference... it sure has changed! Keyan loved going on some of the rides and was a little overwhelmed at the toddler pool as there were a million and a half kids there... but really enjoyed the lazy river! He sure does love the older girls and really can turn on the charm.... going to have to lock him up when he is older!
Tyler and I got to get away for an evening and attend kenny chesney and billy currington in slc... he received some free tickets from the military so it was a great date night! My brother and kids watched keyan for us and he was so good for them... which makes it easier getting away for an evening!
We ended the month with a trip to san diego with tyler as he was there for a yellow ribbon event! I just have to say that I love san diego... from amazing weather, friendly people and the most amazing beaches.... we really fell in love it..... and hoping one day to live there! We stayed right off harbor blvd at the manchester hyatt.... amazing hotel... I must say! There are so many things to do right there... we walked along the pier on friday and shopped around at seaport village which has exclusive shops, ice cream parlors and live music! We took a few hours to go to the pool that overlooked the bay as tyler finished up some work! Saturday we attended sea world.... which was a perfect day 72 degrees and just beautiful! Keyan loved seeing all the animals and enjoyed the 4D sesame street show with full effects including a shower of water!! He absolutely loved the dolphins and the children fun center with some fun carnival rides! We ate amazing thai food at the gaslamp district and topped the night off with pinkberry frozen yogurt! yummy!!! Sunday brought another full day at the san diego zoo... it was keyans and I first time... and boy that place is massive! I think we needed three days to walk the entire park. We did a bus tour around the park and then did the sky tram over to the elephants, lions, giraffes and panda bears! He really did love the animals... the elephants were his favorite as he got to see them getting a bath. He wasnt too sure of the sky tram ride... got a little scared and held on so tight! He crashed as we walked out of the park! We enjoyed some awesome seafood at the fish market at seaport village and keyan tried the clam chowder... he loved it! We headed back on monday after a half day at the coranodo beach and playing in the sand.... keyan literally had sand in his ears, eyes, nose and mouth! He really just loves the sand and beach.... which makes us want to move closer to the beach... truly is one of our favorite places to be!!
